Neema returns to school 2013

Neema returning to school, 2013.

DOB Dec 1, 2000

Came under Tumaini care, early 2012.

Neema came to Tumaini on a full time basis in early 2012 after our attempts at assisting her in an outreach capacity failed.  Neema is HIV+ and upon arriving at Tumaini house weighed the same as our seven year olds.  Naturally thin (we call her “twiga”, or giraffe in Kiswahili) she was still horribly malnourished and her grandmother (orphaned as a young child) was simply too poor to provide the nourishment required.  Today Neema (Grace), thrives and is an active, if not precocious young lady in 6th grade.
